Optionally, the AXWare For Windows demo provides Fake Start and Finish buttons that simulate timer triggers which can help in demonstrating the programs capabilities without having a timer hooked up at all.

Either way, if a timer is hooked up or not, the Timer interface must be activated except when doing full manual data entry mode. To activate the Timer interface press the clock-like button in the Staging Window (white circle icon). 

If you are using a AXWRATS Timer package, a test Timer dialog will be displayed.  All other timers will provide Staging Log information but the test Timer Dialog will not be displayed. The following two images demonstrate the Timer activation buttons as they change from non-active (left) to active (right).

This is how the AXWRATS Timer test dialog appears prior to running the activating the test.

If you do not want to test the timer press the Cancel button at this time.

If the timer is hooked up and the lights are connected, press the Start Test button to activate the test. As the test continues the check boxes at the top of the dialog will be check accordingly if everything is functioning properly.  If there are any errors messages will be displayed in the list box and the check boxes will reflect any non-functioning component (unchecked).

This is what the test output looks like if the AXWRATS Timer is configured properly. Note: the output may differ a bit based on the version of the software but the overall indications are the same.
