Staging Cars
Staging cars can be done in many ways:
- Manual data entry.
- Class Tree View using Right mouse functions.
- Registration Grid, using Right mouse functions.
Generally a combination works the best but the method you select may depend
on which method you are most comfortable with and which you will find faster or
more convenient.
Manually
Staging Cars
This example assumes you did not turn on the Unique Car Number option and thus a
class and car number must be entered to stage a car. If Unique Car Numbers
is active, then only the car number is required.
Manual Data Entry:
Enter the class and car number into an empty slot in the
staging grid (generally the last line) by typing the appropriate class and
car number. The steps and keys are outlined on the right.
- Set focus to the class field
- Enter the class and press <tab>
- Enter the Car Number and press <enter>
- The program will automatically move you to the next
line in the Staging Grid if you are using a Timer. Note: for manual
data entry - without a Timer, the Timing data field is the next field
to receive focus. To move to the next line, press the down arrow
instead.
|
Using Class and Number Pull-down lists:
The class pull-down list is based on the Active Heat (as set in the
Staging Window). If Active heats = ALL, then all the classes are
active and selectable.
The car number pull down list will
be based on the selected class.
Together, these
lists are used to provide a smaller subset of cars that you can pick
entries to stage.
This example shows a pull-down list of all
the classes that are registered. Our example is very small so only 3
different classes contain registered cars. Use the cursor or mouse to
select the appropriate car and press <enter>. Then press <tab><tab>
(2 tabs) to move to the car number field, or
use the cursor to set the focus accordingly.
|
The image on the left demonstrates the pull-down list
for the car number field. The contents of the list will be respective to the
class that was selected for this entry. Again, use the cursor or mouse to select
the appropriate car number. Then press <tab><tab> (2
tabs) to move accept the data.
|
Staging cars
from the Class or Number View
| Double clicking from the Class Tree View or Number
Tree View for the respective entry, will place the car into the Staging List
and thus
staging the car. The entry will be appended to the list.
The example on the right was the result of double
clicking on the #11 asp entry. As you can see asp 11 was Staged in row 13.
You can also stage the entry using the Right-mouse button functions and
selecting the Stage Car function. |
 |
Staging cars
from the Registration Grid
| Using the right-mouse button from the
Registration Grid allows you to Stage the entry from which the function
was activated. This example will Stage 'ss 88'. |
 |
|
As you can see, 'ss 88' was the last car that was staged.
|

|
Overwriting a Staged Entry
Overwriting a
staged entry may be necessary when the incorrect car was entered into the Staging
grid. To overwrite a staged entry
set the focus onto the appropriate staged entry (row) and do one of the following.
-
Manually
re-enter the class and number as specified above. (Timing information will
be adjusted automatically).
-
Using
the Class or Number Tree Views
| In the Staging Grid, set the focus to the
incorrect entry.
Then set focus for the new entry, in the
Class or Number Tree View and press the right-mouse button.
Selected the Overwrite Staging Entry command.
This example demonstrates overwriting the car in row 9 of the staging
grid. |
 |
|
The result - row 9 was overwritten by bs 9. The driver info and # of
runs for both entries were automatically adjusted as well as the
standings. |

|
Noticed
that the Run # field for all the entries is adjusted accordingly.
Reruns are not counted as a run and the run number will be blank. Also,
in this example our event has been setup for only 3 runs. Additional runs can be taken, but they will not be recorded into the
Registration/Standing List. The number of runs for the event can be
altered if desired or necessary. (See the Modify Event
Attributes under the Setup menu)
